PROCESS

Prior to the session, during our consult, we will discuss what you are wanting. We will ask questions about your dog, is it well trained, does it run crazy and not listen well, all of these situations we can deal with. Location and types of images you are wanting will all be discussed. If you want portrait styles, action, etc. all will be discussed.

We will email you a contract that has some information and some of the boring liability stuff in there.

Pay the retainer and/or the full amount for your session. Full amount is due before the actual session. Retainer is non refundable if you cancel or don’t show up at the proposed meeting time. If I would have to cancel - you will get fully reimbursed.

SESSION

We will meet at a pre arranged meeting spot. If you aren’t sure where, we will have some ideas for you. If we are doing a “lifestyle” type shoot, we will basically have you interact with your dog and we will capture the images. If you are wanting to show case your pet playing at the beach then thats what we will do. If you are wanting some posed shots of you and your dog, we can definitely do those as well.

Your dog doesn’t like to look at the camera? That’s ok, we have some different noises and things we can do to help with that. We can edit leashes out of the images.

FINAL IMAGES

The contract states 2 weeks for final images to be done, however we normally have them done much faster than that. We shoot with high resolution Nikon cameras and a large variety of lenses depending on the location and situation. We do not give out RAW images under any circumstance. We will do the editing. When you receive your digital images, you are more than welcome to share them on social media, we don’t require it, but ask that you give us credit. Please do not apply filters to the images. If there is a “flaw” or something you want fixed in an image, please let us know within 2 weeks of receiving your digital images. You must get them downloaded within 30 days of the images being released to you in your online gallery. If something happens and you can’t in that time frame, please contact us as most of our online galleries are scheduled for deletion within 30 days.

If you want to purchase prints, you can easily do so through the online gallery. Once you place an order, we are notified by the website, we then go through and check if anything needs to be fixed for the crop/ratio you have chosen. If I have to make a big edit, I will show you the final image before ordering. The prints will be shipped directly to you normally.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS/RETAINING FEE

We know life can get complicated. Please make every effort to let us know you have to reschedule at least 48 hours in advance. We will do our best to accommodate. If you have to cancel completely, everything but the retaining fee will be reimbursed. If we need to reschedule due to weather, if you are here on short vacation, we will do our best to find something in your time frame. Our cameras and lenses can be used in rain and or mist. So if you’re up for it, I am too. If we had planned on any creative lighting with artificial lights, most of our equipment is not rated for rain. Our standard sessions are $250 - $50 retainer fee. For other sessions it will be different.

PET FAQ:

What if my dog cannot be off the leash?

Not a problem. This wouldn’t be the first time I was asked about this either. Thanks to my photo editing skills, we can make a leash disappear. Another option for you is to choose a fashionable leash.

How much experience do you have with animals?

I’ve been photographing & working with animals for over 20 years. You can see the various type of animals I’ve had sessions with. All of which have different personalities and traits.

What if my pet is stressed out during the session?

We will work with your pet to get the best photos possible. Prior to the session, we will discuss your pet’s personality in unfamiliar places, strangers, and other such habits. It is all about making them comfortable and taking it slow. Please bring your dog’s favorite treats!

Can I be included in some of the photos with my pet?

Of course! Nothing makes me happier than when I have the chance to capture a unique bond that you have with your companion. But remember, the focal point of this session will ultimately always be of your pet. By making them the center of attention, we can see the love they have for you in these photos.

Is there a charge for additional pets?

The first 3 pets are included. $50 extra per pet. If this is a litter session - message us so we can ask a few questions and can let you know the cost.

What if my pet isn’t well trained?

Almost 90% of the animals I photograph aren’t trained, require leashes, and need a lot of owner intervention. Some are nervous, some hyper, and some are straight-up confused. I have experienced all sorts of different behaviors, and I am fully prepared!

How long does it take to receive the photos?

You will have your online gallery within 2 weeks but normally much sooner. Photos remain in the online gallery for 30 days. There will be a download all link and options for prints. If you need assistance with ordering prints, we can do the order for you once we know what you want.
